Abel Moore was appointed Deputy Sheriff in Middlesex County about 1812, while a resident of Stow. He moved to Concord in 1814. In 1815, Moore was also appointed to the office of Deputy Jailer at the Middlesex County jail in Concord, which position he held until 1843.
